End of Summer Update

Hey folks! Been a very busy summer for the band, here’s what’s been happening…

Played a boatload of shows all over Atlantic Canada, finished writing our new record (!), spent a week in magical Ingonish writing songs at Gordie Sampson’s songwriting camp (unofficially titled “Camp Songcamp”), as well as some exciting news on the business front, but we’ll let you in on that shortly…

Me and the band are very excited about the next few months. We are showcasing during Contact East in Antigonish, competing for a trip to the U.K. in Music Nova Scotia’s Battle of the Bands, and showcasing during Nova Scotia Music week in Yarmouth in November! We signed up for a few more Absolut Thursday nights at The Carleton Bar and Grill in Halifax after the success of our first Thursday ! Check the “Shows” section of the site for the dates. Did I mention they are free?

Stayed tuned in the coming weeks for a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT and some more shows TBA! Thanks for the support all summer !

New Single – “Last Thing”

In case you missed the pop-up (which is impossible), our new radio version of “Last Thing” is available as a free download! The song is heading out to radio stations across the region next week, but we’re giving it away as a thank you to everyone who have helped make the first part of 2010 so memorable. Add it to your summer playlists and give yourself a big hug from The Big Wheel!

Some new tour dates have been added to the “Shows” section of the site, should be filling in the rest of the summer in the coming weeks. Come check out a show when we come to your neck of the woods!

Still enjoying time at home, working on a bunch of new material to test out at some upcoming shows. Keep your ears peeled.

Summer is almost here, can’t wait to see all of you.

xoxo

Update!

Hey folks! Been really busy in Big Wheel land, hence the lack of updates. So here goes!

- The band had a successful showcase and trip to Canadian Music Week. Played some of our best shows yet on the way back to Nova Scotia, thanks to everyone who came out in Charlottetown, Tatamagouche, and the rowdy crowd in Halifax to make the shows so great!

-The ECMAs in Sydney also exceeded all expectations for the band. Made some very great contacts and played great sets all over the city all weekend. Thanks to the ECMA organization and the the Cape Breton community for putting on such a great event. See everyone in Charlottetown next year!

- With all of the traveling over the past few months, we have slowed down on working on our next record, BUT have an exciting new single coming out as a free download in the coming weeks. Check back for updates!

We are currently laying low, resting and writing after a busy start to 2010. Some exciting shows being put together for the summer and the remainder of the year!

See you real soon,

-C
